The impact of both the general environment and the workplace environment on health is a major issue for all countries. The French government decided to tackle the problem by drawing up the 2004-2008 National Health and Environment Plan (PNSE), in June 2004, followed by the 2005-2009 Occupational Health Plan (PST), in February 2005, both of which fit squarely with the European and international context, which is marked by a growing awareness of the need for action, as demonstrated by the various initiatives implemented. |
